London-based composer and experimental multi-instrumentalist releases her second album on Metron Records, following her 2021 debut on the imprint, Of.

Nonage is an introspective journey through Yillei's childhood, represented throughout the album by samples and recordings of Chinese Children's TV shows and mechanical toys, underpinned by soft acoustic and electronic elements.  

“I remember pressing piano keys like touching flowers, reading scores like looking at paintings, writing like how I would talk to myself, greeting death like how I would greet life.” 

The closest Chinese translation of the word 'Nonage' is "childhood" or "dishevelled hair', a playful nod to the carefree years spent 'growing up' by the artist.
