Dreamlike ambient soundscapes here as the five track e.p. 'Projections of a Coral City lands as the ninth release in Balmat Records discography, calling on a trio of producers for the record.

Prolific left-field electronic producer Nick León is joined by Coral Morphologic, a duo consisting of musician J.D. McKay and marine biologist Colin Foord.

This project dates back to 2022, when Coral Morphologic finished a project-mapping installation on Biscayne Boulevard. For five nights, macroscopic films of corals were projected across the exterior of Knight Concert Hall - a nod to the concept that if left unchecked, rising sea levels may allow the corals to reclaim the city that was originally birthed from the limestone mined from the everglades. 

Beautiful, emotive and powerful - one of our favourite releases from this label.
